Summary

Certifications

I have experience with all ages throughout my teaching career. Most of my teaching experience is in Grade 2, where I enjoyed teaching them the skills of reading to learn. Some students showed academic gaps that needed academic intervention, a few resulting in IEP’s. I understand the importance of collecting data to map all children’s learning progress.

Math & Science

My favorite subjects to teach are undoubtedly math and science. Students often don’t realize how much they learned over the year, and I love to change their thinking into a growth mindset. I am proud that all my 4th grade students scored in Tier 1 for the 2019 Winter aimswebPlus benchmark test.

Community

I believe students need a voice, including showing their work in the classroom and collaborating to find solutions. I love taking time to have fun with the students and learn all about them. Whether it’s joining a GoNoodle, playing a game of soccer, or cup stacking, I think it is essential for students to see their teachers not just the authority figure, but as part of their community.
